The image belongs to a fund of great historical importance (MAPRW fund, Mediterranean Allied Photo Reconnaissance Wing) of the AFN (National archive of aerial photos) and the ICCD (Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation). The fund collects all the images shooted by the Allies during the Italian campaign in 1943-1945 for reconnaissance purposes and to identify targets, plan attacks and assess any damage inflicted.
