Subject
Stereoscopic plates dated to the first half of the 20th century, by an unknown author, showing the sarcophagus found in the underground burial chamber of the Tomb of the Pancrazi on Via Latina, following excavations by Lorenzo Fortunati in 1858, now preserved in the Gregorian Profano Museum.
The image shows the lid with a depiction of the Oedipus myth and a part of the sarcophagus with depiction of the myth of Adonis.
